These courses are perfect for exploring new subjects while advancing your academic journey. Whether you’re looking to boost your resume or simply challenge yourself, these courses are the perfect way to make your summer count.
Course Options

Monday – Thursday | 8:30AM – 2:00PM
This course covers techniques of nail technology, hand and arm surface manipulation, and recognition of nail diseases and disorders. Topics include OSHA/safety, sanitation, bacteriology, product knowledge, salesmanship, manicures, artificial applications, pedicures, surface manipulation, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to safely and competently perform nail care, including manicures, pedicures, surface manipulations, decorating and artificial applications in a salon setting.
Students must have their own transportation and the ability to purchase their own uniforms, books, & kits.

This course includes basic nursing skills required to provide safe, competent personal care for individuals. Emphasis is placed on person-centered care, the aging process, communication, safety/emergencies, infection prevention, legal and ethical issues, vital signs, height and weight measurements, elimination, nutrition, basic restorative care/rehabilitation, dementia, mental health and end-of-life care. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills and be eligible to test for listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry.
Students must be 16.5 years old by the first day of class and have their own transportation. Students must meet all health requirements, pass a background check, and complete a drug screening. Regular attendance is imperative to ensure successful completion of the program.
Students must have completed Medical Terminology I (MED 121) prior to enrollment.
Students must be 17 years old by July 30th. Students must complete a reading placement test with 11th-grade reading level.”
