High School Programs

Southeastern Community College partners with local schools to offer college-level opportunities for high school students. Whether you’re a current high school student or preparing to start high school, there are two main ways to earn college credit early: Career & College Promise (CCP) and Columbus Career and College Academy (CCCA).

Career & College Promise (CCP)

CCP is designed for high school juniors and seniors who want to get a head start on college. Students stay enrolled at their high school while taking SCC college classes that count toward both high school and college credit. Courses are offered in pathways such as transfer degrees and career-driven technical associate programs.

Columbus Career & College Academy (CCCA)

CCCA is SCC’s early college program offered in partnership with Columbus County Schools. Students apply during their 8th-grade year and, if accepted, begin at CCCA their 9th-grade year. They complete both high school and college coursework on Southeastern’s campus, with the opportunity to graduate with a high school diploma and an associate degree at no cost to the student.

As a cooperative innovative high school, CCCA expands opportunities for students through high-quality instruction and hands-on learning. Students focus on a Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathway during their 9th and 10th grade years. Pathways include Broadcasting, Culinary, Agribusiness, or Metals Machining. By the end of 10th grade, students earn a college certificate in their chosen area. From there, students can continue their studies toward a college transfer associate degree or a career-driven technical associate degree. The entire curriculum is designed to be completed in five years. Columbus County students interested in this opportunity should connect with their middle school counselor or contact Crystal Matthis, SCC’s Early College Liaison, at [email protected].
