SCC to host Career Expo, invites adult learners to learn about higher-paying jobs

The event will connect job seekers directly with local employers while providing educational opportunities to help adults build skills for in-demand careers.

Southeastern Community College, in partnership with Columbus County Schools, Whiteville City Schools and NCWorks – is inviting adult learners, job seekers, and career changers to connect with local employers, explore job openings, and learn about educational programs that can lead to high-demand careers at a Career Expo on Friday, April 4, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Located on campus at SCC’s T-Building, college staff will also be available during the event to discuss career pathways, training opportunities, and financial aid options, including the NextNC Scholarship, which makes community college free for most students by covering tuition and fees.

This event coincides with this month’s launch of SCC’s Better Skills. Better Jobs initiative —an outreach campaign dedicated to reaching more adult learners and helping them gain the skills and credentials needed to access higher-paying jobs that meet current workforce demand.
