The Nationally accredited Phlebotomy Program at SCC is approximately one semester. It combines classroom instruction with hands-on training in the art of drawing blood. Students learn how to perform venipuncture, capillary puncture and proper specimen handling. Clinical hours are performed in area hospitals and Dr. offices. Once completed Students are eligible to work in Hospitals, clinics, blood donation centers, and Physician offices. Many students use this course not only for a job but as a steppingstone into other healthcare careers as well.
