SCC Ambassadors distribute Holiday Meal Boxes to students in need

To ensure that Southeastern Community College students had a warm meal for Thanksgiving, the SCC Ambassadors packed Holiday Meal Boxes consisting of a turkey, multiple side dishes and dessert. Twenty-five boxes were distributed to students between Nov. 21-23.

“Our goal is to help as many students as possible,” said Cristian Wood, SCC Ambassador Advisor. “The students who have received the boxes over the past several years were extremely grateful.”

With $1000 collected in donations from SCC faculty and staff, the SCC Ambassador Advisors purchased Holiday Meal Box items from Food Lion. Each box had $40 worth of food.

“This service project is a great way for the SCC Ambassadors to help give back to our community during this holiday season,” said Kaitlin Nobles, SCC Ambassador Advisor. “Names were drawn at random, and the winners picked up their boxes in T-building on campus.”

The Holiday Meal Box is one of many service projects the SCC Ambassadors complete every year.
