SCC joins the streamlined student transfer Wolfpack Connect program at NC State University
Making the student transfer process even easier, Southeastern Community College has partnered with N.C. State University in the Wolfpack Connect program. With guaranteed admission as a transfer student while meeting program requirements, SCC students have more than 100 major and concentration options available and a tailored course transfer plan tool at their disposal.
“Southeastern is thrilled to be able to partner with North Carolina State University’s Wolfpack Connect initiative,” said Dr. Brandon Jenkins, SCC Executive Vice President. “The Wolfpack Connect will provide our transfer students with a guaranteed transfer opportunity to North Carolina’s premier land grant university while allowing them to affordably complete their associate’s degree at SCC.”
Jenkins explained that Wolfpack Connect will strengthen access to high quality higher education for Columbus County students and families. He said that SCC is proud to be a part of Wolfpack Connect and is looking forward to working with students to meet their educational and career goals.
“It is exciting that students will now have this connection with NC State University when beginning their SCC college classes,” said Julia Roberts, SCC Student Counselor. “This new agreement added to SCC’s list of university agreements will give students an additional way to keep informed about the next steps for successful transfer.”
Roberts explained that participating students receive benefits including one-on-one advisement from a university representative who can recommend the best courses to meet transfer requirements. She said this guidance helps students stay focused on their transfer goal and stay motivated to follow through and complete their bachelor’s degree.
“It’s great to see SCC alumni and hear they now have a bachelor or master’s degree,” Roberts said. “With this agreement, we’ll hear even more success stories.”
While in the Wolfpack Connect program, SCC students must maintain a 3.0 GPA, earn an associate’s degree by following the transfer guide aligned with their NC State major and meet all NC State transfer admission deadlines. NC State University “strongly recommends” that students choose their major at the start of their freshman year and make no changes to their pathway since their course schedule is customized for their degree program.
According to NC State University’s Frequently Asked Questions section of their website, Career and College Promise students and early college students are eligible for Wolfpack Connect if they have not already earned 30 college credits. Wolfpack Connect participants are eligible for the Goodnight Scholars Program Transfer Scholarship if they are pursuing STEM or STEM education. Guaranteed admission into Wolfpack Connect does not mean guaranteed financial aid or scholarships.
