Truck Driver Training

Ready to take the wheel and build your future in trucking?

SCC is proud to partner with Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute (CCC&TI) to offer comprehensive training that prepares students for rewarding careers in the trucking and transportation industry. Through hands-on instruction with experienced professionals, students will gain the skills needed to operate heavy commercial vehicles. Training includes advanced driving techniques, vehicle inspections, record-keeping, legal requirements, and maintenance. Upon completing the program, students will be qualified to take the Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) exam.

  • Must be at least 18 years old
    • Graduates under 21 are restricted to driving only within the state where they are licensed
  • High school diploma, GED, OR successful completion of a Reading Placement Test. Diplomas or certificates outside the United States require successful completion of a Reading Placement Test. Transcripts can be ordered through the National Student Clearinghouse.
  • Ability to read and speak English
  • Valid driver’s license with no limiting restrictions
  • Pass a DOT Physical and Drug Screen

Class Schedule

The Truck Driver Training program spans 9 weeks and follows the schedule outlined below:

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Thursday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Friday: Online

Registration Fee: $1,999.00

Estimated Additional Fees:

  • DOT Physical: $60.00  
  • DOT Drug Screen: $50.00  
  • Motor Vehicle Report (optional): $10.75 
  • Class A CDL Permit: $64.75 
  • Class A CDL License:  $107.50 

Financial Assistance:

Financial assistance is available to qualified students on a first-come, first-served basis and will be discussed during orientation.
