Medical Laboratory Technology Admissions

Below you’ll find important information about the admission requirements and coursework for the Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program at Southeastern Community College. Students should work closely with an SCC admissions staff member or advisor throughout the process.

MLT Admission Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Grade of C or better in the following courses:
    • ACA 122: College Transfer Success or PTE 121: Pathway to Employment – Health
    • MLT 110: Introduction to MLT
    • BIO 163: Basic Anatomy and Physiology
  • Prerequisite coursework includes:
    • ENG 025: College English Skills
    • MAT 025: Concepts of Essential Math/Statistics
    • MAT 035: Concepts of Algebra
