Multi-factor authentication (MFA) helps secure your account by adding another layer of protection if your account is compromised. MFA methods are verified for all accounts every 180 days.

These instructions apply to devices using Android 14, iOS 17, or a newer operating system. If your device uses an older operating system, call (910) 642-7141 and ask to be transferred to the SCC IT Department for assistance.

Follow these steps to verify your MFA methods:

  1. Go to the SCC Microsoft sign in page.
  2. Enter your SCC email address and password.
  3. When prompted to sign in with a passkey, select Other options.
  4. Select Passkey in Microsoft Authenticator.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app when prompted.
  7. Follow the instructions shown on your screen to create and save your passkey.
  8. Complete any identity verification steps requested by Microsoft Authenticator.
  9. Once your passkey has been created successfully, follow the remaining prompts to finish setting up multi-factor authentication.
