Wyche Gallery Welcomes Fiber Artist

IMG_3253

The Wyche Gallery exhibition, “A Stitch in Time” features the work by fiber artist, Anita Jacques. The exhibit runs from January 13 – February 14.

Anita began creating her fiber art pieces in 2001 after viewing a program of an artist who created their art from fabric and thread verses traditional paints. Having been inspired by a unique form of expression that connected Anita to her past, she developed her own style and technique of this contemporary art form. Most of her pieces are influenced through life experiences, remarkable places, and photographs of her travels.

Anita’s reception will be from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 23 at Southeastern Community College. Learn more about Anita’s work.

The Wyche Gallery, located upstairs in A Building, features work by local and regional artists. It offers an educational opportunity to our students and community through exhibitions, visiting artist lectures, and artist workshops. New exhibits are on view every six weeks during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Funding for the Gallery is provided by the SCC Foundation.
