Congratulations to the recent graduates of the Medical Lab Technology (MLT) program at Southeastern Community College.
Graduates of this program are the scientific investigators of the hospital. The MLT performs laboratory analyses on body fluid specimens to discover biologic clues which lead to the diagnosis of disease. Students who enjoy the investigative nature of science courses do well in the MLT program. “The program appeals to students who want a career in healthcare, but do not want to go into nursing,” says Program Director Dawn Williamson.
The MLT program is approved by the NC Community College System and accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Inquiries about this exciting field of health care may be directed to instructor Dawn Williamson (ext. 377) or visit the SCC website, sccnc.edu/Students/Programs/MedicalLaboratory.
