Your path to a career in healthcare could begin here.
The NC HE²ALS Envision Summer Program is a hands-on introduction to the many opportunities available in the healthcare field. Designed for rising 9th and 10th grade students, this program helps you explore healthcare careers while building confidence, leadership skills, and a better understanding of the education and training needed to work in the field.
During this four-day experience on Southeastern Community College’s campus (July 13–16, 2026), students will participate in interactive sessions, hear from healthcare professionals, and work alongside other students who share an interest in helping people and making a difference in their communities. Through guest speakers, panel discussions, and team projects, you’ll learn about real career pathways in healthcare and the skills needed to succeed.
Students will also explore important topics like communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving—skills that are essential for success in healthcare careers. At the end of the program, participants will present their ideas and projects to parents, guardians, and community partners.
This program is part of the NC HE²ALS (Health Education & Employer Aligned Local Strategies) initiative, a four-year pathway designed to guide students from career exploration to real-world healthcare experience through summer programs, coursework, job shadowing, and internships.
The program is free for participants, but space is limited and interested students must apply. Students who are curious about healthcare, enjoy working with others, and want to explore meaningful careers are encouraged to apply.
